The sun will come out...

tomorrow.

Some of you may remember that Jordan and I were getting training to become mentors through a program called Partners, very similar to Boys and Girls Club. Well that was back in September, and we are finally getting started with our partners. We're working with seperate individuals, both in Jr High and this is a huge opportunity for Jordan to minister. Please keep this time in your prayers, I can't give many specifics but God could use it in mighty ways, if he chooses to).

Another huge praise in our life right now is God's provision. It's no secret that it is expensive to live out here and we've had some major additions to our budget recently. It was a little scary because it all happened around the same time we found out we were going to have a baby to provide for as well. It's funny how you can think you are preparing well, but since we're never truly in control I don't think we can truly be prepared. But God has shown his provision to us numerous times, through amazing ways. It just keeps blowing me away and it is such a testimony to His character. It's exciting to have to sit back and wait on the Lord as we are utterly helpless at times.

Here are some random pictures from our visit to Utah for Christmas.

Jordan was so good putting Naomi to sleep, you should hear him talk History with her...haha. No but seriously, it makes me excited to know that I won't be alone in a struggle with a nighttime baby.

Shalom, do your mad face!

Shalom, do your happy face!

Shalom, do your sad face!

Oldie but a goodie

It's raining here in January. What a strange winter so far. After 2 weeks of 40 and 50 degree weather, and clear blue sunny skies, it decides to rain....I don't mind, I'm enjoying the mildness compared to last winter's 2 weeks of below 0....

In other news, I've been feeling the baby move for a couple weeks now. It's very entertaining and it keeps me company during my sleepless nights. Don't ask me why I am unable to sleep already, but I'm pretty sure it's God preparing me for what's ahead. Anyway, we find out the gender next Tuesday, so I'll be sure to keep everyone updated...still no camera. But are some oldies for you. I'm thinking (and hoping) our kid is going to have either dark or red hair when 'it' is born.

fine.

There are a few reasons why I haven't posted in a very long time:
1. We've been pretty busy.
2. Our camera is dead dead dead. Who wants to read a blog with no pics??
3. We don't have internet at home anymore (our neighbors moved, thus taking our connection with them :)
We took almost three weeks of vacation to visit family during Christmas and New Years. The first week was spent in Longview, Tx. It was a great time being with Jordan's family and meeting our nephew for the first time. I was hoping it would be a little warmer, but alas I'm unable to escape the cold.
A nice 10 days was spent with my ENTIRE family, that's right the entire family was together over Christmas and New Years. That is 18 people now with 2 on the way, can't wait for future holidays! We went bowling with most of the family, and the original Metzger girls(minus Kate) got to go out for tea one afternoon which was a blast. I must say, I seriously have the most amazing nieces ever. I have never met a not yet 2 year old who knows her vowels, can sit through a black and white jerry lewis movie, and is incredibly grown up.

Jordan just stole the battery cord and my computer is about to die, so I'd better post this before I lose it. I'll leave you with some lousy pics that I had to steal. :)

My newest niece Naomi!

Jordan bowling with his right hand of doom!
