This summer I learned a huge lesson. To be content is always a choice. I used to always pray for contentment and seek it and try to be content in wherever I was or whatever I was doing, but never could seem to be there. This summer was a rough time for me but I certainly learned a lot and grew a lot closer to my husband and the Lord....
Nevertheless, I was not looking forward to 6 months of snow and below freezing weather and no stores, bowling alleys, movie theaters, family, and just being holed up in our apartment waiting for the spring again. So I began stocking up on books I wanted to read this winter: Great Expectations, Winter of Our Discontent (how fitting!), Catch 22...
Surprisingly tho, I'm not going to have as much time on my hands as I anticipated...so here's the update (and the point of this whole post). I will be starting a new job (and quitting my other 3 ) next week as a nanny for a really great 10 month old girl named Rohan and her 3 year old brother Jayden. The schedule is to die for! Tuesday - Friday during school hours (mom is a teacher..)
I am also going back to school to finish my degree at Grand Canyon University, in the comfort of the Rocky Mountains. They have a really fantastic online program and I will be getting a Bacholer in English Lit with a History Minor and maybe an emphasis in youth ministry. I am so excited to be getting back into school...so excited.
We've been volunteering with the youth in Lake City, and it's really a huge blessing to both of us. The kids are amazing and so unique, the Lord is doing so much in their lives, and we're being stretched and challenged at the same time. This fall we are actually leading a seperate Bible study for the Jr High boys and girls...can't wait to see what God does!
well that's pretty much the update for our lives right now...can't wait for the fall colors to appear in Lake City. Autumn is my favorite time here, it is breathtaking. I will be sure to take a lot of pictures, maybe then you'll realize you want to visit us!
