You are brave.....that's all I'm gonna say! Good for you!
OH Man, i was just going to contact you about how I am saving hundreds on disposable diapers. Oh well, if you are still interested let me know.
What? how? Part of my reason for switching is to find a diaper that grows with Adelaide (and other kids) and that works better at keeping poop contained than disposables. Anytime she poops, it's all over everything no matter which kind of diaper we're in and she always seems to be between sizes.
Charity, These look way better than the old fashioned ones I used. Not sure about keeping the poo in though. Can you bleach these? The good thing is, now that she is a little older, she will go longer in between wetting and pooing. Not as frequent as a newborn. The worst part for me was storing them until I had a full load to wash. Love you, mom
I found a special wetbag/diaper pail designed for these (and these are WAY better than the ones my mom used for these) you don't need to bleach them, you just do a cold rinse and a hot wash and no stains! Some friends have told me they have very few blowouts with these. They can be adjusted to fit waist and legs so you can get the perfect fit with any baby...i sound like a salesman!
what do you mean "between sizes" with disposables? I just used whichever ones fit, usually bigger than what their weight would say on the box and I pulled 'em up high ;) But babies are all shaped differently so if you say you can't find any that fit her I suppose that's possible. Plus my kids were bottlefed so their poop was different? I'm guessing? I just never had issues with getting disposables to work, but I'm sure you'll like the cloth diapers, I've heard a lot of good things about them.
What I like: the new photos on your blog! very nice!
Hey, so I spent a total of 12 dollars on THREE PACKS OF HUGGIES (27 count), two boxes of Kotex tampons (20 count), 1 package of Kotex pads (20 count), and two sticks of Degree deoderant. I did this at Walgreens using the store sales, coupons, and register rewards. I am soooo excited. IF you want to know more, let me know!!!!
sheeeeesh bethany!!! that's crazy! let me know how you do this...
kit: well parts of adelaide are too chubby for the diapers to stay snug, they get too stretched and leak, but if we put her in size 4 diapers, they're too loose and leak...so it's a loose loose. plus hopefully we'll have lots more babies to use the cloth diapers on and save money throughout the years..
we LOVE our cloth diapers. and the doctors said how much better they are for the skin too. We used punkinbutt.com and bought the sugar peas, and the bummis...so far LOVING IT. we do a load everyother day, we have a big wetbag for at home and have a small one to travel with. It hasn't been inconvienent at all...people keep saying "good luck with that." we LOVE it, and might i suggest while your at it, cloth wipes too. call me if you want, or just check out that website.
My kids wore size 4 at A's age and they were smaller than she is and we never had a problem. Going with bigger diapers always worked for us, gave more room to catch stuff. huh, it must be the bottle feeding vs. breastfeeding = different poop? My kids had solids by that age that weren't too messy. Anyway, hopefully these cloth ones work for ya. At least you can use em again ;)
I'd wonder if size 5's would work for her, but then of course there's only like 5 of them in the package (don'tcha hate how you get less in a package the bigger the size is!) so it's probably not worth it.
Glad to hear the job situation is looking up, I'm excited to hear more about your plans!
We really like our cloth diapers. Plus their little bottoms look so cute all big and padded!
